Watch list
A watch list is used to warn a business not to take new positions in a country placed on the watch list without various levels of approval - that is, delegated authority to use the country limit is either restricted or suspended.
For example, a country such as Ukraine is downgraded, the limit cut and it is placed on a watch list.
The country risk desk had earlier put Iceland on a red watch list and after some discussion the trade was not permitted.
